In this Privacy Policy document, the digital learning platform STORISH, hereinafter briefly referred to as "We" or "STORISH", is a superior digital educational platform that aims to improve users' English levels in an innovative way by reading stories written at different English levels and aims to ensure an easy transition from one level to another.
 

We, as STORISH, respect your Privacy to the highest level and commit to protecting your personal data.
 

With this Privacy Policy ("Policy"), we explain how STORISH collects and processes your information and personal data; the protection, privacy, and data security measures applied, and your rights regarding your personal data. This Policy, in addition to other provisions that may be determined within the platform, specifies the types of data we collect, their purposes of use, and determines the basis of the transaction between us and the limits of liability. Therefore, we ask you to read this text carefully.

Your access to and use of STORISH is governed by this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use ("Terms"). By accessing or using STORISH, you agree and undertake:

Contact us at support@storish.app to request data deletion. Cancel all your subscriptions via Apple or Google depending on your subscription method. Delete the application from your devices.

Data We Collect About You

In order to operate the platform effectively, offer you the highest level of service, and protect the legal rights of all our users, we may have to collect both personal and non-personal data about you. This personal data may include contact and identity information (e.g., your name, e-mail address) and information for billing and payment purposes. STORISH does not accept data concealed from any third party as personal data. Furthermore, we undertake and emphasize that no data will be collected unless voluntarily provided by you and with your explicit consent; all such collected data will be kept confidential and will not be shared with any third party unless you explicitly consent.
 

How Do We Collect and Use Your Data?

STORISH offers flexible access options to suit your preferences:

GUEST ACCESS (ANONYMOUS LOGIN):
You can use STORISH without providing any personal information by selecting the "Skip" option during sign-up. As a guest user, you will be assigned a unique anonymous User ID. This allows you to access all app features including reading stories, vocabulary learning, progress tracking, and premium subscriptions—without sharing your email or name.

Your data (reading progress, saved words, quiz results, and subscription status) is securely stored on our servers and linked only to your anonymous User ID, not to any personal identifiers.

ACCOUNT REGISTRATION (OPTIONAL):
If you wish to link your data to an email address, you may optionally create an account at any time from the Account Settings. When you link your anonymous account to an email, all your existing progress and subscriptions are preserved.

IMPORTANT: Anonymous users cannot recover their data if they delete the app or switch devices. To ensure data recovery and cross-device access, we recommend linking your account to an email address.

Therefore, we collect your personal data through various sources. When you access STORISH or use the Website, Application, and/or Services in any way ("use"), we may collect the following information and personal data:
 

Data Collection Sources and Processing Purposes

During your access to and use of STORISH, we collect your personal data through the following sources:
1. Anonymous Users and Guest Access

STORISH allows you to use the app without creating an account. When you  select "Skip" during sign-up:

Data Collected:
• Anonymous User ID (randomly generated)
• Usage data (stories read, words saved, quiz results, progress)
• Device information (type, OS version)
• Subscription status (if purchased)

Data NOT Collected:
• No email address
• No name or personal contact information

Processing Purposes:
• Enable app functionality without personal information
• Store learning progress securely on our servers
• Manage premium subscriptions linked to your User ID
• Provide personalized content recommendations

Optional Account Linking:
You can link your anonymous account to an email at any time from Account  Settings. When linked, your User ID remains the same and all data is  preserved.

Data Retention:
Anonymous user data is stored on our servers. Without an email link, data cannot be recovered if the app is deleted or device is changed.
 

2. Account Registration and Subscription Transactions

Account creation is OPTIONAL on STORISH. If you choose to create an account, we request and collect personal information such as your name and e-mail address in order to provide services to you. If you purchase paid services,  additional personal information such as your name, address, and payment information will be collected to conduct payment transactions.

   • Management of your account.
   • Creation and personalization of your English learning program.
   • Communicating with you via or about STORISH.
 

3. Use of Services Offered on the Platform

We collect your data when you access services offered on the platform, communicate with us, or provide us with written feedback. This collected data covers information including but not limited to reading history, in-app search history, progress reports, user impressions, subscription plan, billing cycle, and future steps.

Processing Purposes:

• Determining the customer's membership plan.

• Planning and presenting personalized content (e.g., audiobook lists).

• Providing and improving services, subscription, and reading commitment plans.

Commitment: We commit to storing this information securely and not sharing it with other parties.
 

4. Data Recording and Analysis (Third Party Tools)

We use third-party tools to monitor the performance of our App and continuously improve the quality of our Services. Firebase helps us track app performance and deliver push notifications to keep you informed about your learning progress. Supabase provides backend analytics and data management capabilities that allow us to understand how users interact with the App and identify areas for improvement. We are committed to your privacy during this process. We do not use personal identifiers such as your username or contact information in our analytics processes. Your email address is stored securely and used solely for the purpose of communicating with you about your account, sending important updates, and resolving any technical issues you may encounter.

5. Surveys

From time to time, we may voluntarily collect personal information from users through surveys.

Processing Purpose: This information is used solely to improve the content of our web pages and the quality of our service and is not shared with any third party.
 

6. Information, News, and Content Requests

You can subscribe to receive information, news regarding new and existing services of the STORISH platform, and other content that may interest you. When registering for this information, you will be requested to provide your personal data, including your name and e-mail address.
 

7. Technical Data and Support Requests

Collected Data: Data such as IP address, logs, device type and name, operating system, time zone, membership type, and date are processed.

Processing Purposes:

• Ensuring the functionality of the application.

• Detecting crashes and errors, conducting technical analysis.

• Maintaining activities in compliance with legal legislation.

• Ensuring technical data security.

When you need technical support regarding the STORISH platform, you will be asked to fill out a form or send an e-mail to define and clarify your technical support request. When you submit a technical support request, you will be asked to provide your personal information, including e-mail address and description of the problem. We retain copies of all technical support requests and other information provided with these requests.
 

8. Data Collection from Third Parties

In the context of certain customer services, we may collect personal data about you from third parties such as data brokers or data aggregators to support our business activities.

Processing Purposes:

• To combine or compare this data with other information we hold about you.

• To use independently for data analysis and our business activities.

Compliance Commitment: We will always try to verify that the third party and STORISH have already informed you about the use of your data.

When you visit or use the STORISH platform, we use your browser information (e.g., IP address and browser type), cookies, and pixel tags.

Automatic Processing and Necessity:

• These data (cookies and browser information) are necessary for the basic functions of the platform; they improve user experience by remembering preferences and settings.

• This category is automatically processed when you download, access, and use the application.

Processing Purposes:

• Determining which data or information should be shown on your browser.

• Improving application and website performance and personalization.

• Detecting how you access the platform and whether you are a visitor/user of the platform.

• Developing our service offerings, providing quality assurance and training.

• Helping diagnose problems with our servers, collecting comprehensive demographic information.

• Managing and improving our services and fulfilling other legal purposes.
   

Any user has the right to request the deletion of their own personal information stored on the STORISH platform and the account associated with this information. However, this right does not cover users who violate the terms and conditions stipulated for platform use or who may harm or misuse our Services or other users; in such cases, STORISH may retain some personal information to ensure further security for other users. We may use the personal data we collect about you for various purposes; these include, but are not limited to, creating your account on the platform and enabling you to log in; managing your account, providing you with customer support, and confirming service quality; sending periodic notifications and announcements, including e-mails regarding features, services, events, and special offers; managing billing and service fees; auditing, managing, monitoring the service, measuring and improving its quality and effectiveness; marketing the platform and our services; conducting market research involving statistical analysis of user behavior (we may present the results of this analysis to third parties in a non-personal, anonymous, and aggregated manner); and responding to compliance requests from laws, courts, and government agencies.
 

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

A "Cookie" is a small file that can be stored on and accessed from your device when you visit the platform. Other tracking technologies work similarly to cookies by placing small data files on your devices or monitoring your activity on the platform to enable us to collect information about how you use STORISH. STORISH uses cookies and other tracking technologies to identify you and your interests, remember your preferences, and track your use of the platform. We also use these technologies for the following purposes:

• Controlling and protecting access to specific content on the platform.

• Addressing any request you make to us for platform management and research purposes.

• Statistical Analysis: STORISH has contracted with third-party service providers to track and analyze statistical usage and volume information from platform users.

2. First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

• First-Party Cookies: Cookies placed on your device directly by STORISH.

• Third-Party Cookies: Cookies placed on your device by another party through the STORISH platform.

Service Provider Collaboration: STORISH may contract with third-party service providers to send e-mails to users who provide us with contact information, to help measure and improve the effectiveness of our e-mail communications, and/or to determine whether messages have been opened or links clicked. These third-party service providers may place cookies on these users' devices for their own purposes.

How Do We Share Your Personal Data?
 

STORISH commits that protecting your personal information is our top priority and undertakes not to disclose this information or declare you even as a platform user, except in the following exceptional circumstances, even if we have your written permission. These exceptions are limited to situations deemed necessary for legal purposes: We will disclose your personal information to the extent we deem necessary to respond to a subpoena, regulation or binding order of the Data Protection Agency, legal process, government request, or other legal or regulatory process. Furthermore, we assure you that we and all our employees and service providers are bound by this and other policies and strive to protect your privacy to the fullest extent possible, even if we have your written permission to share this information.

Our processing of your personal data for the purposes described above is based partly on our legitimate interests in promoting and protecting the platform (STORISH), establishing and maintaining user relationships, and providing our services in the best possible way, or on the legitimate interest of a third party. It is also partly based on your explicit consent and our commitment to any contract with you; for example, for commercial purposes supporting platform operations such as creating a user profile, subscribing to our newsletters or alerts, or understanding and improving your experience on our website. Finally, it is based on our obligation to comply with the law where information is necessary to fulfill our legal or regulatory obligations. In summary, we process personal data on the basis of consent, contract performance, legitimate interests, and compliance with legal obligations.
 

Security of Your Personal Data
 

We use reasonable security measures to protect the security of the information you provide through the platform or services. However, it should be noted that the security of information sent over the Internet cannot be absolutely guaranteed. To ensure your user security, we reserve the right to suspend your use of the Services or platform without prior notice until an investigation is completed in the event of any suspicion of a security breach. Furthermore, we guarantee that we will never request your login information or credit card information through an insecure or unsolicited communication channel (e-mail, phone, etc.).

• User Responsibilities: Service users are responsible for ensuring the security of any password, user ID, or other form of authentication and for not sharing access to password-protected or secure areas of the services with other persons.

• Unauthorized Access: Access to and use of password-protected and/or secure areas of the services is limited to authorized users only. Unauthorized access to these areas is strictly prohibited.

• Encryption and Firewalls: Chat texts are encrypted during the transmission phase. We use SSL standard encryption that encodes information for such data transmissions. All texts are kept on secure servers. Access to stored data is protected by multi-layered security controls, including firewalls, role-based access controls, and passwords.
   

Retaining Your Information
 

We will store your information securely. We will retain your user account file and associated personal information as long as your account or profile is active or for the period necessary to achieve the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy. This retention period applies to cases where applicable legal legislation does not require us to retain this information for a longer period.
 

Limits and Scopes of Liability
 

The platform user or service provider is obliged to adhere to professional ethics and conduct when providing or receiving service. At the same time, they must protect the privacy of service providers and other users and undertake not to disclose or use any data or information obtained or accessed through the provision of service via this platform. The user will be legally liable in case of violation of any provision of this policy, other terms and conditions of this site, or other terms and conditions determined by us.

The platform or services may contain links and widgets related to third-party sites and services that do not belong to us. Data Sharing and International Transfers
 

Your information may be transferred to or stored on computers located outside your city or country. Regardless of where your data is stored, we undertake to protect it securely as described in this Policy. We use legal safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure your data is protected during international transfers.

We work with trusted third-party service providers to operate the App and deliver our Services to you. These service providers include Supabase for backend services and data storage, Firebase for app functionality and push notifications, and Google Cloud for infrastructure services. These partners process data on our behalf and are bound by strict confidentiality and security obligations.

We offer convenient sign-in options through Google and Apple. When you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google. Similarly, when you sign in with Apple, we receive your email address and name (or a private relay email if you choose that option). We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy to understand how these companies handle your information.

All subscription payments are processed through RevenueCat, which manages transactions via the App Store for iOS users and Google Play for Android users. Your payment details are securely processed by Apple or Google respectively, and we do not store your credit card information.

We display contextual advertisements in the free version of the App using Google AdMob. It is important to note that we do NOT use personalized advertising or track your behavior across other apps and websites. AdMob may collect limited, non-personal information such as general location at the country or city level, device type, and ad performance metrics to serve relevant contextual ads. We may access, preserve, and disclose information we store about you if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with law enforcement requests, court orders, legal processes, or to protect our rights, property, safety, and the security of our users.

 

Subscription Cancellation and Communication Preferences
 

If you have subscribed to our newsletter or alert services or receive invitations from STORISH to participate in surveys or attend events and do not wish to receive such messages from us in the future, please review your message settings on the platform to unsubscribe or follow the instructions in the unsubscribe link provided in all marketing e-mail communications sent by us.
 

Exercising Your Privacy Rights
 

In accordance with applicable legislation, you may make a request for the purposes of accessing, reviewing, changing, or deleting the personal data we collect about you. You may also have the right to request a copy of the personal data we collect about you and to request the correction of any errors. In certain circumstances, you also have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be stopped.

To help protect your privacy and security, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity, such as requesting a password or user ID, before granting access to your personal data. We commit to making reasonable attempts to promptly review, comply with, or otherwise respond to your requests as required by applicable laws.

Different laws may prevent us from granting you access to your personal data or fully complying with your request depending on the circumstances and the request submitted; for example, if providing your information would lead to the identification of another person. STORISH fully reserves the right to charge an appropriate fee for complying with your application where permitted by applicable law and/or to reject the application if it is inappropriate, excessive, or otherwise unacceptable or illegal under applicable law.
 

Age Limitation
 

As STORISH, we do not knowingly and willingly collect or process personal data from persons under the age of 16.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please inform us immediately via the address support@storish.app. We commit to taking necessary steps without delay to delete such data and prevent future processing.

We strongly recommend that parents and guardians actively supervise their children's online activities and use parental control tools available on devices and platforms to prevent unauthorized access to our Services.
Note: Even when using STORISH anonymously without providing personal information, users must be 16 years or older, or have parental consent. Parents should supervise their children's app usage regardless of whether an account is created.

Consent and Privacy Policy Changes
 

By using the platform, you explicitly consent to our collection, use, and storage of your personal data as specified in this Privacy Policy and other relevant places on the platform. Additionally, we may periodically update this Privacy Policy. Significant changes made will be notified to you through our Services or via e-mail. We recommend that you review this policy regularly. Your continued use of our Services following updates means that you accept the revised policy.
